Novelty dining at The Marton

Will that be ‘toilet bowls’ or ‘squat pots’ for you?

Toilet Bowl Noodle?

Or would you prefer Squat Pot

Welcome to Taiwan and welcome to The Marton, a novelty loo themed dining restaurant. Located in the southern port city of Kaohsiung, Taipei, The Marton serves it’s menu (from drinks to it famous sundae desserts) in a toilet and your napkins – rolls of toilet paper on holders at the back of your very own toilet seat!

At first glance you’d probably think you’ve walked into the toilet/ water closet section of the bathroom accessories shop but when you see patrons eating of the seats (literally) you’ll probably realise they’re not selling toilets.

Now you may think that novelty is a work coupled with pricey but patrons say nothing on the menu is over NT$250 which is about USD8.00! Impressed?

Wouldn’t you want to try and tell your mother you just ate out of the toilet?

Honestly, I’m just curious what the restrooms look like at the Marton. Aren’t you?
