Michael Phelps,  the Olympic gold medal swimming champion,  was involved in a traffic accident in Baltimore, Maryland, on Thursday night, but was uninjured, according to the police. The police say that Michael Phelps’ black Cadillac Escalade rammed into another vehicle at a junction at about 9 p.m. The female driver of the second vehicle was taken to a local hospital as a preventative measure.

The two other passengers in Phelp’s car were also uninjured.  The authorities would determine whether alcohol was involved in the crash, as it is standard procedure for any crash. Phelps who has won eight gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, was suspended from organized competitive swimming earlier this year, after he was photographed holding a ‘bong’ in February.
