David Shepherd Passed Away

Submitted by Valencia on Friday, 16 April 20102 Comments

David ShepherdOne of the world’s most famous cricket umpires was dead after struggling with cancer in his late 60’s. David Robert Shepherd MBE (or better known as David Shepherd), was a renowned international umpire and much respected by the players. He officiated in 172 ODIs, including three consecutive World Cup finals, and 92 Tests between 1983 and 2005.

This former umpire of England was born at 27th October 1940 in Bideford, Devon, England but then moved to Instow, near Bideford which was his last resident before he passed away. Sure we will miss his appearances as a great cricket umpire.
