A 97-year old woman rode in the back of a tricycle 2,400 kms (1,491 miles) so that she could watch the Chinese badminton team in action at the Beijing Summer Games.

Call me a skeptic, but I find it extremely hard to believe. Still, the story is – old Xiao (Xiao Xincui) rode on the back of trike while her grandson pedaled from Henan in central China to Beijing. It took them five weeks.

The grandson made the trip to show appreciation to his grandmother for raising him after his father died.

Besides badminton, she wants to watch Liu Xiang in the 110m hurdle finals along with 1.3 billion other people.

Ask me, and I think the world should be watching this ‘young’ lady.

Too many people, think Fat Americans, haven’t rode 1,500 miles on a bicycle in their lives.
