Baby Humpback Whale Asks Sailboat, “Mommy, is that you?” (PICS)
I like whale watching. We can do it just miles from my home. The whales migrate back and forth nearby.
There’s a lost humpback whale calf in Sydney, Australia that is, well, really lost. The calf not only doesn’t know where it’s at, it can’t figure out who it’s mother is.
From these images, it seems the baby thinks the sailboat is it’s mother.
There’s a city on the west coast of Japan called Oyashirazu (Parents don’t know). The story is a mom and her children were swimming when the tide came in. The mother got scared and swam to safety forgetting about where her child was. The child drowned because the mother couldn’t keep track of where the child was.
Guess, humpbacks lose their little ones, too, eh?
