How fast can you text message?

I’m lucky I can even dial my phone, much less text on it.

There should be an Olympic event for text messaging, no?

A 17-year old, My Svensson, won the Swedish text messaging championship. Yeah, I was surprised too to know there was even such a championship.

For her efforts, My won 25,000 karma ($3,900). Her dad immediately took it away to pay for the cell phone bill?

Nope…she will use it for a trip to France next year after finishing high school.

She practiced by sending 40-50 text messages per day to each of three friends.

She won by texting a 141-character SMS message in 61 seconds.

How fast can you text?

And, again, can somebody tell me why texters don’t just call their friends? I don’t get it.

Text messaging must be related to golf. There must be something fun about it because so many people are doing it.
