NHK to broadcast documentary series to mark March 11 disaster
NHK is all set to broadcast a special documentary series on the NHK General TV for nine days. The series will begin on March 3 and will be based on the March 11 disaster in Japan.
The series will be marking the first anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and will be featuring the extensive footage as well as stories, that has been gathered since the disaster. The series will thus speak about all that had happened on March 11.
It will also be narrating the stories about the victims and how their lives has changed since the tragedy. The first episode will air on March 4, 2012 that will analyse the triggers of the huge earthquake and the powerful tsunami.
The episodes will then include the frontline of the nuclear disaster, nuclear crisis, revival of Kesennuma’s High Street, winter in Otsuchi, battle of Beleaguered City Hall and Minamisanriku’s long road recovery. The final episode on March 11 will feature the live broadcast from Tohoku on the night of the very day.
