Kumi Koda’s album ‘Appreciation’ reaches number one spot on Oricon chart

Japanese singer and song writer Kumi Koda’s album ‘Appreciation’ has reached the number one spot in the Oricon chart for February 6. The album is the first from the singer since she announced her marriage and pregnancy.

The album of Koda includes 17 tracks and includes some of the major hit numbers like ‘Love Me Back’, ‘Dont Stop Love’ and also the opening theme song for the Fuji TV’s drama ‘Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de’. The singer has also appeared on the cover of ‘JAPONESQUE’ in which she is seen wearing an exotic Oiran costume.

The 29 year old singer married KENJI03, the 27 year old guitarist from the rock band BACK-ON. The two got hitched last December and later announced that she was four months pregnant.

KENJI03 has also collaborated on the song ‘Poppin, love cocktail feat. TEEDA’. Koda while expressing her happiness over the success released a statement in which she said that she was really honoured that her 10th anniversary album has reached the number one spot.
