Two television officials are now, thankfully, out of a job for allowing a pornographic video to be broadcast late night on January 16th, and the following day…in Hebei province.

As a result of this broadcast “caused a bad social effect.” The dudes were fired.

I say thankfully because last month the creator of China’s largest pornographic web site was imprisoned for LIFE.

Life is a long time for showing skin on late night TV.

Still, as far as I am concerned, China cannot be faulted for strictly controlling this kind of content. Too many people do not have enough sense to monitor themselves.

I believe in freedom of speech and expression…but with responsibility and respect to those who might be offended.

Just because I can say anything I want doesn’t mean I should say anything I want.
