Even Christmas can’t save China…

Submitted by Raziel on Saturday, 25 October 2008No Comment

Not too long ago, America and Europe in their quest to find cheaper production costs found China, leading to the birth of the nation’s thriving toy industry (among others). Even Father Christmas took part in the great migration as he downsized his North Pole Factories (lucky for him he didn’t close it all down) and relocated them to China. You see his North Pole elves were simply becoming a bit too commercialized and a whole lot of demanding, what was old father Christmas to do? He had toys to deliver and the rising costs coupled with revolutionized elves weren’t making it any easier.

But today, even Christmas can’t save China from it’s crumbling fate. This year alone, approximately 52% of the industry’s enterprises have gone out of business (That’s a lot of people jobless and hungry). So does that mean toy shortages for Christmas? Of course not! Santa and his peers are professionals, obviously orders have already to completed early in the year to ensure they meet deadlines!

Is this the end for China? Maybe not, if it can turn things around, Pearl River Delta can be clear of low end factories to make way for the new potential cash cows – modern technology factories.

And where is Santa’s new factory? Well he hasn’t disclosed that information, it’s suppose to be a secret (just like his move to from the North Pole to China’s Pearl River Delta), but you’re free to take your guess.
