Bedroom secrets of the Chinese

Liu Dalin. Have you heard of this name? Well if you haven’t, lets get to know him.

Dalin, is controversially famous back in his homeland China for be one of the pioneering sexologists who brought them China’s first Sex Museum.

Now if you’re thinking a sex museum is no big deal, remember that we’re talking about a sex museum IN China ABOUT the Chinese; and China is a country that has strict regulations (although with the recent melamine scandal many think otherwise) – they don’t allow advertisements to promote sex products, so the existence of sex museum is a huge thing.

We’re not introducing anything naughty here, because as with any museum, the point is to educate. Educate about sex? Well not exactly, in Dalin’s own words,

“…to research and to rescue Chinese sexual culture to awaken people from a state of sexual ignorance,”

I agree with him, the new China is more open about sex. It used to be a huge taboo and it still is; but it’s more acceptable now. And that’s the whole point of the museum – to educate, so the youths of China can avoid straying into an unhealthy direction when it comes to sex.

Interesting Fact:

Sex doesn’t always sell in China. The Museum of Ancient Chinese Sex Culture” or “Dalin Cultural Exhibition” had to close and relocate several times from the poor response it recieved upon initial opening in 1999 in Shanghai.
