The movie LUST, CAUTION was nominated to the 44th Golden Horse Award Competition in 11 categories.

The erotic espionage thriller from the director Ang Lee won in eight categories:

-Best Feature Film

-Best Director (Ang Lee)

-Best Leading Actor (Tony Leung Chiu Wei)

-Best New Performer (Tang Wei)

-Best Screenplay Adaption (Hui Ling Wang, James Schamus)

-Best Makeup and Costume Design (Pan Lai)

-Best Original Film Score (Alexandre Desplat)

And the Outstanding Taiwanese Filmmaker of the Year to its director Ang Lee

The movie is a 158-minute drama espionage thriller set in WW2 Shanghai, in which a young woman gets swept up in a dangerous game of emotional intrigue with a powerful political figure…

The full version of the movie was prohibited in China due to explicit sexual content.

However the Chinese audience could appreciate the edited version of the movie with all of the sex scenes edited out (over 7 minutes)
