$120,000 Swimsuit (pic)

Submitted by Bill Belew on Tuesday, 12 August 2008One Comment

The LZR is not the most expensive swim suit. Fastest maybe, but not most expensive. Nor is it the only suit being worn when world records are set.

One of the sponsors of the Water Cube complex in Beijing in cahoots with Designer Huang Yinyun took a motnh to create a high-tech swim suit with expensive crystal attached to it.

“The temperature had to be strictly controlled, as the glue could have spilled at high temperature, but the crystals could have fallen off if the temperature had been too low.”

Speaking of falling off…uh, never mind.

An application has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records and the swimsuit will be kept at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne in Sweden after the Olympics.

I like looking at swim suits as much as the next guy and girl, especially at the beach and, well, depending on who is wearing it. But, a $120,000 suit hanging in a museum? What fun can that be? Seriously.

Some people just have too much money.
