Shahrukh Khan detained at US airport

Shahrukh Khan – one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars - was detained at the US airport of Newark in New Jersey, and was questioned for over two hours, allegedly because of his surname.

The actor was allowed to go only once the Indian Embassy officials intervened.

According to reports, Shahrukh was on his way to Chicago to participate in an Independence Day parade.

Shahrukh told the media that his name popped up on their computer after which he was taken for questioning for two hours. He said that he was not even permitted to use his phone.

The actor, however, denied that this incident had any racial bias.
