As a result of the earthquake that hit recently and a consequential tsunami in Japan YG entertainment has postponed the debut of 2NE1. The 8.8 measuring earthquake was really bad and a lot of disaster was brought by the same. The all girl band 2NE1 was set to debut on March 11th in Japan.

The single that 2NE1 was going to debut in Japan is called “Go Away” and the release of the single was due on the 11th of March. Another live performance was scheduled for 2NE1 on AsahiTV’s “Music Station“, but that also is postponed.

A YG representative released the following statement.

“The group’s performance on AsahiTV’s “Music Station” was canceled, consequently pushing back their debut stage. We had originally planned for the group to return to Korea on the 12th; however, due to the closure of all Japanese airports, we will just need to keep a close eye on the situation.”

“The hotel the group is currently staying at is one of sturdiest buildings in Japan, but even then, the building saw a crack on their wall. We’re upset that they can’t perform their debut stage, but we’re just very thankful that 2NE1 is safe and sound.”
