China spent seven years developing the Jian-10 (Fighter-10).

The jet plane made its debut in Beijing today.

China becomes the fourth country in the world to have its own advanced fighter aircraft, aero-engines and missles.

Military observers say the aircraft is no match to fourth-generation American fighter aircraft but is comparable to mainstream fighter aircraft in the West.

The aircraft is equipped with fouth-generation air-to-air missles able to hit non-visual targets and engage in multi-target attacks that need no guidance after launch.

The jet fighters are likely to become available to prospective buyers with deep pockets who want to make their contribution to world instability as well.
