The appealing myth about Chinese Women (part 1)

Submitted by Raziel on Monday, 10 November 2008No Comment

For some reason, East Asian women captivate the world. And as alluring as it may sound, how far is the truth stretched when we hear the West and ‘dating services’ stereotype Chinese women as being the following:

  1. simply affectionate, easy-going, and faithful
  2. decent and sincere
  3. Women in China are kind and caring for family and friends
  4. Seek real love and relationships based on mutual understanding and respect
  5. Loves her man with every fiber of her body and will try anything to make their relationship work
  6. Thinks of foreigners as interesting, respectful, and faithful which is why they are interested in serious relationships with men outside of their country.

In fact, if culture has anything to do with it then the traditional Chinese culture would make the woman only 1 of the 3 - faithful.

Traditional Chinese culture dictates their women to be modest and conservative. Affection is saved for behind closed doors and easy-going is translated as being loose in morals, therefore most certainly frowned upon.

So if you say that Chinese women are openly affectionate and easy going then it’s likely you’ve found yourself a really modern thinking one. And if you have, do you really think a revolutionized woman’s empowerment would stop there? You are seriously in denial if you answered yes.
