Internet Pornography has a fight on its hands

Submitted by Bill Belew on Saturday, 4 October 2008No Comment

China launched a campaign to restrict the spread of online pornography on April 12th.

Three weeks later and the number of DAILY reports of offending websites, mostly pornographic has increased from 300 to 700!

The Ministry of Public Safety says, “The fight against pornographic Websites has won wide support from Chinese people.”

Of course, it is those same people who found the porn site, watched the sex video, lusted over the nudes who THEN turned the site in, perhaps because it was not so hot after all. No?internet.porn.jpg

China has 123 million Internet users…many of them young people. The MPS also likes to say that 80% of juvenile delinquents were lured into crim by Internet content. A bit much, methinks.

Still Police have closed 1,450 porn websites since the launch of the campaign…five of which were run by a 21-year-old student who boasted 210,000 registered users.

If there were no porn on the Net…I don’t think I’d miss it.
