Arrest Warrant Issued Against Richard Gere for Kiss
An arrest warrant is out against Richard Gere. His public display of affection has ‘offended local sensibilities.’
The judge called Richard Gere’s actions “highly sexually erotic” and a violation of India’s strict public obscenity laws.
That’s erotic? The judge ain’t seen nothing yet.
Gere and Shetty “transgressed all limits of vulgarity and have the tendency to corrupt the society,” the judge is quoted as saying.![]()
India is a favorite place of Richard Gere who likes to hang out up north to promote health issues and the cause of Tibetan exiles for friend Dalai Lama.
Gere could face three months in prison, a fine or both.
After the kissing incident with Indian star Shilpa Shetty, photographs of the clinch were then splashed across front pages in India, where public displays of affection are largely taboo.
Let’s see kissing in public is NOT okay. But, putting photographs of the incident on the front pages of newspapers everywhere in India is okay?
I am missing something.
Apparently such cases against celebrities are common by – publicity seekers …and judges.
Do you think Gere and Shetty should go to court over this incident?
