Campaign Launched to Eradicate Internet Sex Ads

China has launched a new campaign to clean up cyberspace - eradicate Internet sex ads.

12 ministries will work together to in the scheme tocurb the growing number of illegal advertisements for:

1. sex-related health supplements,

2. STD drugs and clinics,

3. sex toys.

STD hospitals will have licenses revoked if they advertise w/o permission.

Companies using suggestive advertisements will have their businesses suspended.

Some advertising agencies in serious violation will be closed down.

Health and drug agencies are being asked to closely monitor online ads involving drugs and hospitals and report all offenses.

The Chinese government already has begun a push to rid all print and broadcast media of sex, drugs and STD remedy advertisements.

But, are they violating free speech?

Wait, China doesn’t have free speech, does it?
