Bangkok Calls Thai Actress’ Dress Too Sexy, Production company calls it Porn
American Hollywood stars might get away with showing a lot of skin and Japanese adult video actresses might get away with showing all of it, but Thailand is not so gung-ho on letting their girls show too much.![]()
Thai actress, Chotiros Suriyawong, was reprimanded by her production company, ordered to do community service by the university she attends and offer a public apology in more appropriate attire.
The dress apparently has succeeded in spotlighting the relatively unknown actress into the spotlight…something we can assume she and her production company desired.
However, her production company responded by editing her role OUT of one of its upcoming movies, saying “”We are not a porn production house and it goes against Thai culture.”![]()
Thailand’s Culture Ministry even jumped into newspaper opinion pages and online chat rooms to call the choice “very inappropriate.”
Thailand is the land of the Buddha. There are Buddhist statues everywhere…I mean, everywhere.
And it seems many/most/a lot of people, especially the Thai government wants its actresses to find a better balance with the country’s Buddhist values of modesty and manners.
Do you think the girl went too far?
