This ain’t good. Kids are playing less in Japan. Or so it seems to Toys-R-Us-Japan.
For the first half of this fiscal year, Toys-R-Us is reporting a Y3.2 billion loss ($30 millionish).
The drop is attributed to loss of video-game related sales and higher advertising costs for its baby products. Hey! We just got a new Babies-R-Us.
Operating losses are up nearly 50% over last year.
So, what’s up with that?
Yo, kids!! Get out there and play!!
Yo, moms and dads! Buy, baby stuff! Profit margins are higher for baby profits, says Toys-R-Us.
Or, we can just go the park and kick a ball around. No?
