Somebody Stole My Wife’s….um Ashes

Date August 25, 2008

Somebody’s idea of fun is not fun to others. Is that kind of like one man’s junk is another man’s treasure?

Anyway…some dude in Japan has been swiping urns from graveyards in Japan, most of them carrying the remains of women. Last year, some 20 such incidents occurred. And this year there are more.

One woman couldn’t find her mother-in-law’s urn and was, no doubt, afraid her mother-in-law had come back to life, despite having been cremated, the usual way in Japan. My ex-mother-in-law could do that, I think…come back to haunt me.

August is the time when Japanese visit graves and remember the dead, or make sure the dead are still dead, as the case may be.

Of course, when the man gets tired of the women’s ashes that he has swiped, what’s he do?

He dumps them.

Some things don’t change.
