Michael Phelps and the World’s Deepest Swimming Pool

Submitted by Bill Belew on Monday, 11 August 2008No Comment

Michael Phelps, Michael Phelps, Michael Phelps….I get it. The boy’s a dude. He’s great. He’s awesome and if he succeeds in his quest he will owe a whole lot to Jason Lezak.

But, tell me this, how fast can Michael Phelps swim down, then back up? In the world’s deepest swimming pool?

The world’s deepest swimming pool is 33 meters deep (105′) and sits on the outskirts of Brussels.

Used for diving practice and air equalization drills, no doubt. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

“What’d you do today Mike?”

“I swam lengths, um depths of the pool, up, down, up, down, up, down. How about you Jason?”

“I chased down a mad Frenchmen and won.”
